Bizarre fact:  My irth name is  an original . If you google “Lemn Sissay” the only responses will be about myself

Bizarre Fact: Received an email to say that Sissay in Quecha a native American tongue means “Blossoming spirit”.

 

It's April! In the picture I'm at a sculptor's studio in Edinburgh. My poem The Gilt of Cain will be placed into a Fen Court sculpture later this year in the heart of Londons Financial District, The City. Find out more here click.

The T Shirt showing The Sun Devils is from a short residency at Arizona State University. One of my hands is in a vice and the other is on a vice.  

I'll be appearing on BBC radio fours Saturday Live Live April 19th. As part of my residency at The South Bank there are events on both 17th March and 25th March at The Southbank centre.

April 21st  is the prize giving event for the winners of The Economst New Media Award, Bindmans Law and Campaigning Award, The Guardian Journalism Award: all part of Index on Censorship Freedom of Expression awards 2008 of which I'm a judge.   I begin judging The George Devine Award at The Royal Court Theatre.
