Welcome

Hey it’s April. Spring got sprung there’s more light here in England. To news:  My documentary on Gil Scott Heron  Pieces of A Man is broadcast on April 21st at 11.30am GMT on BBC radio 4.  You may listen for a week afterwards by searching for “Pieces of a Man”  on the BBC’s   listen online facility.  

This month sees my radio series Into The Gap broadcast to the nation. It is broadcast on radio four each day in the week of 1st April.  Readings this month are at The TUC conference with Shazia Mirza, and Billy Bragg;  The Ciurt Festival in Galway;  The Cambridge Literature Festival. I’ll also be helping launch the much needed Slow Movement. Remember,  you can see the definitive event listings throughout the year, here.  

Alongside Jacqueline Wilson I am patron of The Letterbox Club and gave the keynote speech at The Booktrust conference this month.  The booktrust administrate The letterbox Club.   You can hear the twenty minute speech  here.  I am teaching at John Osborne’s House for The Arvon Foundation.
