November 06.Cheers for calling in.
I was on tour last month. It was about 100 degrees every day in
Phoenix Arizona – the valley of the sun. After that Canada where the
mountains are cold and the people are warm. On returning to
England I was poet in residence at Poetry International at The South
bank in central London. It's been a blast. Been through so many timezones I met myself coming back. November, ladies and gentlemen, has entered the building.
Yes
to illumination and the shedding of light in dark October. Each day of
Poetry International a new unpublished poem of mine was projected
onto the side of the Royal Festival hall.! It is part of my Poems as Landmarks campaign
that started in Manchester over ten years ago. Click on Public
Art in the column on the right to read about it. There's
at least an albums worth of material on the recordings page with live
interviews and stuff. It's all free. Free Check out the poems page to
read Invisible Kisses in English and in Spanish translated by professor
Esther Gomez of Manchester University. The
picture on the left is by Madeleine Waller at Zigni, an Eritrean
restaurant in Islington. You can see the other poets that
are part of her project at http://www.madwaller.co.uk.
