Hey, thanks for dropping by. Smile, it's August and The sun’s shining in London UK.
There's a trailer load of other things going on this month. I shall be interviewing, for BBC World Service,
the court photographer for Emperor Haile Selassie in a new exhibition
of never seen before photographs of that time. It's at The Potographers
Gallery 5 great newport street London from 13th September. Here's
the as yet unreleased press release for it. You heard it here first. Click.
If you're attending the booked course this month at the home of the late John Osborne in Shropshire with The Houses of Parliament Writer in residence Rommi Smith we ook forward to a stimulating enriching week.
On the left hand column there’s a few interviews from this month. If you're in the Scottish capital Edinburgh I’ll be reading there on 11th and 12th.
And
on 1st September I’ll be in my home town of Manchester reading at a
festival in new islington. I’ve just finished the poem A deep Breath off the M6 for the 30th anniversary of M6 Theatre in Rochdale.
I’m resident at the South Bank Centre which means. I’m there a couple of days a week. The blog is full to bursting with stuff check it out. The Biog Pics and Interview Page is up and for details about any of my dates for readings then please have a look at the readings page. Check out the buttons on the right hand column. The pic on left is in one of my home towns in lancashire.
Bizarre fact: The name on my birth certificate is an original throughout the world. If you google “Lemn Sissay” the only responses will be about myself - no other.
