Thanks
for dropping by my web page. Here in England the clocks have been
turned back an hour. There’s something Dark about the mornings and
something cold about the nights.
Now
for the light. london is gorgeous in the winter. So in January I'll
leaving these shores to be the British Council Writer in
Residence at The University of California, Los Angeles throughout
January 07.

On
November 7th I’ll be narrating the Afternoon Play on BBC radio four.
It’s called The Lost Boys Of Africa BBC. On 24th November I’ll be
writing and broadcasting the poems on Saturday Live on BBC Radio Four.
For three nights only I’ll be performing a test piece at
The Hammersmith Lyric (twenty minutes only) called Why I don’t Hate
White People.
On the 9th
November I shall be curating and hosting the my first event at
The South Bank. It's called 24 Hour Party People? with manchesters
finest writers such as Terry Christian, Henry Normal, Shobna Gulati,
Johnny Bramwell and more. That’s at The Sprit Level at The South
Bank 9th November. The venue was opened by The Queen of England just a
few weeks ago.
Bizarre fact: The name on my birth certificate is an original throughout the world. If you google
“Lemn Sissay” the only responses will be about myself - no
other. Bizarre Fact: Received an email to say that Sissay in
Quecha a native American tongue means “Blossoming spirit”.
