WELCOME, come in. It's summertime in England and it's officially announced:  I'm the first poet commissioned and to complete commission for The Olympics 2012. Who knew? The poem is to be placed on a Transformer.  You can see the designs for the poems here. It was announced in The Hindu Times  in January. There are three poems in all. They are Spark Catchers, Living and Electricity.

Find out here about "Shorelines, the world's first literature festival of the sea".You can hear the BBC World Service documentary on Bob marley called "One Love" here.  Also broadcast on BBC radio 3 on July 30th at 9pm my one man play "Why I Don't Hate White People".  On 21st July at 11.30pm hear my documentary on Gil Scott-Heron on BBC Radio 4.   And there's much more.  My piece "What If" is exhibited at an eponymous exhibition in Norway at Obrestad Lighthouse through summer to September. In August I'll be at University of South Australia with my play "Something Dark".  The Arvon residential course in south england in July has sold out

I'll be poet in residence at Grassington Festival in June.  In the summer issue of Baaba Maal's online magazine D'accord read my article on poetry and revolution. For all events listings please see readings  Keep a watch on the  BLOG for all exclusive offline news online. My latest book, Listener, is on the left and you can find me on facebook. There's ony one Lemn Sissay in the world so a google search of "lemn sissay" will return references only to me.

Thanks for dropping by. There are all kinds of gifts inside if you spend a little time. There's free recordings, pics, documentaries and interviews. Take your time.  Find the picture of me sporting dreadlocks on stage at The Edinburgh Festival in 1985/6.
