Write More.

2017. Notes to self     My motto in life  is  to inspire and be inspired. It’s not simple. Get it wrong and there's a long way to fall. Only a hypocrite says he  inspires when uninspired himself.   Practically this means I need to read more books – presently reading "My name is Leon" -  – and to see more theatre.  And I need to see more poets too.  I need to be.....  not the expert but the student,  not the "lived experience"  but living life,   not the curated example of authenticity but the action.  And I need to laugh more;  not on stage to an audience but off stage to friends.I need to feel happiness (rather than speak of happiness):  not through staving off sadness in monologue  but through feeling it in dialogue.   I need to listen in 2017  and to read  and to watch.  These are the foundations of creativity.  Silence is the mother of creativity.   And I need to write. I need to write to the clicking sound of the keyboard. Because then I am alive. I am alive when silence gives to  life.  It is an invisible sound from an unknown  source so definitely definitely alive.   Happy new Year.
