We are on stage every night except Sundays. Matinees on Thursday AND Saturdays too. Finishes 9th September!As soon as ROAD finishes my Something Dark Tour begins in Belfast on 13th September. The tour is to celebrate publication of my play Something Dark (Oberon) and its inclusion on the A level Syllabus.The launch of THE LEMN SISSAY LAW BURSARIES is announced today. "Considering the disproportionate impact of the criminal justice system upon African Caribbean men, why are so few of our young men going to university to study law?" Last week in Old Trafford one of my morning poems became this. The idea came about through Jess Lishak, Hannah Patterson and the community of Old Trafford and was painted by artist Russ Meehan (aka Qubek and founder of ‘Mural Life’). It's beautiful.Meanwhile the tube at KIngs Cross features my portrait as part of The BP Award at The National Portrait Gallery. You can buy this poster at The National Portrait Gallery. It features the Ethiopian Cross. (Meskel).Here is how the portrait was painted. It came from artist Fiona Graham-Mackay. Click on the photo below to hear the painting being painted.Now to classical music. Spark Catchers is a poem of mine which has inspired a Concerto of the same name by Hannah Kendal. The short films will be released online soon. These are the highlihgts. There is much more happening. I've moved home. I am putting the final touches to the first stage of my autobiography to be published by Canongagte Books. And I am judging The Bridport Poetry Prize. It's a joy and an honour to read the poems. I need a holiday. But I will wait for winter to take a break. A woman stopped me on the tube yesterday. She said. "Lemn Sissay? You don't know me from Adam. Actually Eve. You don't know me from Eve". I liked her correction.
